Which Kindles will be obsolete?

The popular e-reader company, Kindle, has recently announced that several of their older models will be rendered obsolete in the near future. On May 24, 2022, the Kindle (2nd Gen) International, Kindle DX International, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle (4th Gen), and Kindle (5th Gen) will no longer be able to browse, buy, or borrow books directly from these Kindle e-readers.

The Kindle (2nd Gen) International was released in 2009 and was the first Kindle to be sold outside of the United States. It featured a 6-inch display and a 2GB internal storage capacity. The Kindle DX International was released in 2010 and was the first Kindle to feature a 9.7-inch display. It had a 4GB internal storage capacity. The Kindle Keyboard was released in 2011 and featured a 6-inch display and a 4GB internal storage capacity. The Kindle (4th Gen) was released in 2012 and featured a 6-inch display and a 4GB internal storage capacity. The Kindle (5th Gen) was released in 2013 and featured a 6-inch display and a 4GB internal storage capacity.

Although these older models will no longer be able to browse, buy, or borrow books directly from the Kindle e-readers, users will still be able to access books they have already purchased or borrowed from the Kindle Store. Users will also be able to access their personal documents and read them on the Kindle e-readers.

It is important for Kindle users to keep in mind that these older models will be rendered obsolete on May 24, 2022. After this date, users will no longer be able to browse, buy, or borrow books directly from these Kindle e-readers. It is recommended that users upgrade to a newer model in order to continue to enjoy the full range of features available from the Kindle Store.
